Boating Western Australia and the Rottnest island Authority have received numerous enquiries from boat owners regarding Rangers responsibility around the Island – from antisocial behaviour on board vessels to speeding in the bays or pollution . Protocols on Rottnest Island are the same as the mainland where the responsibility to enforce laws rest with the WA Police.

Beach Emergency Number (BEN) Signs

If you’re boating to Rottnest Island, look out for the recently installed Beach Emergency Signs at various locations across the island. Remember to take note of the nearest BEN sign number; in the event of an emergency you will need to tell the 000 operator this information.
